Our Heritage

A vision between ocean and dunes

The polo club of PGH La Palmeraie was born from a place of passion - a lifelong dialogue between man, horse and country. When Patrick Guerrand-Hermès first rode with the Moroccan cavalry in 1956, polo revealed itself as more than just a game: it became a way of life.

Riding alongside the Moroccan cavalry, he recognized in their horsemanship a philosophy he instinctively understood: discipline without rigidity, elegance without display, authority without force. What began as passion became attachment, and that attachment became presence.
Morocco and polo became inseparable in his life. Friendships woven, seasons unfolded in Marrakech, and a field at Aïn Kassimou slowly became a meeting place for riders, diplomats, and dreamers.

Patrick’s love of the horse guided him to travel north, where the Atlantic breeze cools the land and green pastures bask beneath a wide horizon.  Here, between ocean and the river Nakhla, the PGH La Palmeraie found its natural home.

Today, the club preserves the same spirit: harmony alongside competition, a place where the balance between rider and horse, sport and nature, people and culture all converge. A gathering of people from all around the world around a shared respect for the game that continues today.

More than a polo club, La Palmeraie is a living memory of polo’s rich heritage alongside its constant evolution.
